The Hindenburg (LZ-129) was the largest aircraft
ever to fly at 803' in length and 135' in diameter.
Carrying a total gas capacity of just over 7 million
cubic feet, the Hindenburg was completed in 1936. Powered
by four 16-cylinder diesel engines producing 850HP each,
the aircraft (along with LZ-127 Graf Zeppelin) pioneered
transatlantic passenger air service. She carried hundreds
of passengers and traveled thousands of miles before
being destroyed in the tragic fire at NAS Lakehurst,
NJ on May 6, 1937.
This Winston Classic kit of the famous LZ129 Hindenburg
results in a stunning 48" long display model. Megatech
designers have engineered this kit to the standards
of today's discriminating model builder. Features like
laser-cut lite plywood bulkheads, contest quality balsa
and formed plastic detail parts make this model simple
to assemble for anyone with balsa kit building experience.
Extra details like clear celluloid (to simulate rotating
propellers) and black nylon string (for control linkage
and antennas), and quality covering tissue result in
a model you'll be proud to finish and display.
